About Me

An independent, working woman, I live in a riverside suburb close to both Fremantle and Perth. Having lived in Perth for over thirty years it's obvious that I love the place, though there are still things that irritate and make me squirm with embarrassment. Occasionally they will make an appearance; but generally speaking this is a pretty good place to live.

A sunny Sunday

A busy morning lay ahead of me as I decided to begin the next stage of my backyard make-over.
First I had to decide how wide I'd like the raised bed which I planned to build against the side and back wall. All the information I read recommended around 70cm. This was to allow easy access to the back of the bed for planting and weeding etc.

I thought it would be a good idea to put down a single row of bricks to give me some idea of what it might eventually look like. It was not long before I realised that I was a step or two ahead of myself and that before I went any further a few concrete slabs and a plant or two would need removing. I really loved the hydrangea that I needed to remove so the task was not a very pleasant one.

It took me a couple of attempts before I managed to remove both the hydrangea, a small tree and a couple of large wooden posts.
