About Me

My photo
Perth/Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia
An independent, working woman, I live in a riverside suburb close to both Fremantle and Perth. Having lived in Perth for over thirty years it's obvious that I love the place, though there are still things that irritate and make me squirm with embarrassment. Occasionally they will make an appearance; but generally speaking this is a pretty good place to live.

Heathcote, Applecross

Heathcote is a community facility situated in Applecross. Its buildings were originally used as an asylum, but are now used for the local community.

Rooms can be hired and besides a gallery there are a number of different art forms taught, including painting, pottery and jewellery making.

As well as the delightful old buildings, there is an extremely popular children's playground designed in the shape of a huge galleon.

The grounds are kept in beautiful condition and make the ideal place for family barbecues or picnics. Add to that the low key cafe where a variety of snacks and drinks are served and the highly regarded al carte restaurant, Blue Waters and it becomes a perfect place to spend a few hours.

As can be seen the views are stunning and the beach below very inviting.
