About Me

My photo
Perth/Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia
An independent, working woman, I live in a riverside suburb close to both Fremantle and Perth. Having lived in Perth for over thirty years it's obvious that I love the place, though there are still things that irritate and make me squirm with embarrassment. Occasionally they will make an appearance; but generally speaking this is a pretty good place to live.

Mends Street Jetty

"Decoy" an old fashioned paddle steamer was unloading passengers as I walked onto the Mends Street Jetty. The well used jetty is home to a daily ferry service from the CBD to the picturesque South Perth foreshore.

I was there checking out the, "Bellhouse Cafe" and was charmed by the warm and interesting interior, friendly staff and stunning views across the Swan.

I was equally enamoured by the larger and some would argue more impressive, Boatshed, about a kilometre or two upstream. Also perched on the edge of the Swan, this popular restaurant's ambience is just as welcoming. Unfortunately, or perhaps, luckily the choice was made for me as the latter is closed on the evening I hope to be out celebrating.
