I was out with friends last night. We headed to the Garden City Cinema Complex in Booragoon, to see the popular, Clint Eastwood, film, "Gran Torina". We thoroughly enjoyed it and I only once wondered where it was heading.
However, it was after the movie that once again the, "Where shall we go now?" question raised its ugly head. It should have been easy, we were within a three minute drive of cafes and restaurants. The problem, we did not really want fine dining and the cafes' kitchens had closed at 9pm, some fifteen minutes before we arrived.
With daylight saving it would seem obvious that many of us are eating later and after all it was a Saturday evening and Valentine's Day. A day when traditionally lots of couples eat out. So do any of these things appear to have been catered for, well no. We are still living in the fifties in Perth. It seems expected that groups such as ours would be heading home by 9.30pm.
Wake up Perth, or dare I say it, the title, " Dullsville" will be well deserved.
