About Me
- Lynda Turk
- Perth/Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia
- An independent, working woman, I live in a riverside suburb close to both Fremantle and Perth. Having lived in Perth for over thirty years it's obvious that I love the place, though there are still things that irritate and make me squirm with embarrassment. Occasionally they will make an appearance; but generally speaking this is a pretty good place to live.

Van Gogh to Dali
Art......what is it? My friend and I walked around the latest offering from the WA Art Gallery." Van Gogh to Dali", the posters proclaimed and yes both artists are represented with one or two offerings. We spent a good two hours discussing the merits of the various pieces from the traditional to the less than and whilst we saw merit in most, the packet of Cat Litter (yes you read correctly) left us both shaking our heads and discussing what is Art.
Above are two favourites. The first my friend would have happily taken home for her lounge; whereas my favourite was this masterpiece by Picaso. It was stunning. But then what appeals to one does not necessarily do the same for others.
I thought the idea of encouraging budding artists of any age a great innovation with these two designated areas. One for still life, the other for the self-portrait, with both styles being clearly represented in the exhibition.
