......is short for the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground and on a recent tour we were shown many interesting features.
The ground itself looked fantastic, though strangely not as I had expected. The AFL goals and point posts had been replaced by soccer goals in readiness for the Liverpool vs Melbourne match and the groundsmen were marking out a rectangular pitch.
That game was held last night and an impressive 95 000 attended the match which Liverpool won 2-0.
If interested in Australian Rules football, cricket, or any facet of Australian sport, a visit to the MCG and the National Sports Museum which is located underneath is a definite must do. Very interesting, even for a non-sporting person like me.
