Having lived in Perth for over thirty years it's obvious that I love the place, though there are still things that irritate and make me squirm with embarrassment. Winter Festival

As part of the Winter Festival and new to Fremantle promotors erected a portable skating rink on the Esplanade.  The evening was decidedly cool.......well for this part of WA, but the rink was doing great business and it was really exciting to see the youngsters, and those not quite so young, enjoying what is usually a northern hemisphere experience.  There was a definite buzz about the place and one can't help but feel that this short three week activity may well become a regular feature at this time of the year.
