About Me

My photo
Perth/Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia
An independent, working woman, I live in a riverside suburb close to both Fremantle and Perth. Having lived in Perth for over thirty years it's obvious that I love the place, though there are still things that irritate and make me squirm with embarrassment. Occasionally they will make an appearance; but generally speaking this is a pretty good place to live.

Creatures

Taking visitors around Perth is always fun and yesterday was no exception. With only one afternoon left for our overseas visitors', time was fast running out for them to see the one animal synonymous with Australia ....the Kangaroo.

Apparently time had already been spent trying to track down this elusive creature in a couple of other states namely NSW and Queensland with no success so........in WA we tried the Pinaroo Cemetery, a once used to be haunt, (excuse the pun) of the giant marsupial and in the centre of the city, Herrison Island, where, "Do not feed the kangaroo" signs were in evidence, even if the said animals were not.

Hm....only one place I knew I could guarantee they would see one so close to the city was the Perth Zoo. So that's where, camera in hand we headed.

Success.....

Having satisfied the most pressing quest, we then had time to meander through the lush grounds of the well maintained South Perth Zoo. These majestic males caught my eye as they raised their heads.
