Blazing in, Autumn roared, a veritable volcano of heat. 39C the maximum Perth temperature on March 1st saw most residents either cowering in the confines of air-conditioned houses or spread eagled on the baking beaches, over done prawns on a barbecue.
Being the former I can attest to only leaving the confines of my home sometime after 7.30pm when the sun had completely disappeared, even if much of the heat remained.
Officially we had the driest Summer on record and I believe the hottest.
