I'm currently trying to turn my rather nondescript backyard into a rather trendy courtyard - note the different connotation just the two words conjure up. It has long been a much thought of project, one I have constantly put on the, 'back burner' because I really needed new boundary fences before beginning.
My neighbour decided a few months ago to renovate his house and as part of it agreed to a new back fence. That was completed about two months ago and on the whole I was pretty happy with the result so on my return from my UK holiday arranged to have the side fence built.
First we had to take down the old and rather decrepit asbestos fence. This proved to be a bit of a lengthy process as each sheet of the infamous material had to be wrapped in thick black plastic and sealed with tape. That was step one. Next the builder turned up and dug out the footings then poured in concrete. A day later two brickies turned up and built the 6m x 2m wall. It was very hot, thirsty work, still they made a great job of it and I was very happy with t
