A quick plug for amateur theatre.
Oliver Twist, the well known story of nineteenth century Britain is currently playing at the Princess May Theatre in Fremantle. If your preference is for the more light-hearted musical version, then this adaptation of Dickens is not for you, but if you like it closer to the darker original, then I highly recommend this well acted version of a well loved tale.
Stands outs were Fagin, Nancy and Oliver himself, though many of the cast, such as the young Charlie, who is only ten I have been reliably informed, are also worth a mention.
It was a full house on Sunday afternoon, and I think given that there are only a few more performances, tickets might be hard to come by. Still worth a go, if you enjoy that type of thing.
