In true European style England is now adopting the famous Christmas Markets
which originated in Germany. They are something of a tourist draw card and I have been promising myself a visit to my birthplace in Germany to view one for some years now, alas to no avail.

However having seen an advertisement for Birmingham's very own C M, in conjunction with its sister city Frankfurt, we, being my sister, brother-in-law and myself, decided to take a short train ride into England's second largest city.

It was rainy and cool, but we were not disappointed. The stalls were bright and inviting and whilst I am sure the German tourists would have been slightly aghast at some of the objects on sale I am sure there were quite a few authentic items, certainly the food caught my eye.
We warmed ourselves with cups of gluhwein and bratwurst sausages, whilst taking in the aroma of roasting hams and chestnuts.
