Yes I was sucked in yesterday and headed out to the famous or is it infamous, 'January Sales'.

I always wonder how people feel when they see their brand new prized possessions so gleefully unwrapped on Christmas Day sitting on the discounted goods racks, now priced anything from 30 to 75% less.

Does it devalue the gift, does it make people see red, or feel they have been duped. Or are we so accustomed to what has become an institution, at least in my world, that we are inured to the situation.

Personally, I try not to look, though this year I ended up buying some late gifts on Christmas Eve and received the benefit of the already discounted items made ready for the mad rush that began in some stores on Boxing Day.
